As I prepare for our trip (women's conference) with forty something women (ALL weekend) I am reminded to be thankful that we are going to be together to worship. Godly women have had an influence on my life. As I remember my fifth grade school teacher. I was not raised in church and she was a big influence on me. I am humbled. When I began attending our church as a young (16 years old) married woman, there were godly women of the church that reached out to me and I experienced a growing sense of joy and fulfillment. They treated me as Christians should. Judith, Debra and Sharlyn and Faye always made me feel welcome and I will never forget the kindness that was offered to me!

I am thankful for godly women and the kindness they had for me for I was placed where God wanted me and my kids. Thank You Jesus for the people you placed in my life as these women are my close friends and I love them very much!
Lord, I love You and want to obey Your commands. You have asked me to love my neighbors, all of them. I will try. And when I fail, Lord, love them through me. May all who see me know that I belong to You because of my love for ALL people. AMEN~

This must be the time of year to go on retreats. My friend, Jean, went on one last weekend. I have never been to a womens retreat but I think it would be so fun.
I just got home from Wednesday night womens Bible study. That is probably the closest to my ever being on a retreat.
God bless those ladies who took you under their wing and encouraged you when you were young.

Your worship retreat sounds great. It's wonderful that God provided Christian women to be good examples for you at such a young age. I am thankful for you Cheryl and for the other great Christian women that I have met through blogging.
I can speak for one of those women...Judith. She is a wonderful prayer warrior, listener, and mother-in-law. I love her so much.
So looking forward to this weekend...spiritual food and real food and girl time and shopping....can't get any better than that!

I have a retreat too on Saturday, the only difference is that I am singing at it...I am thankful to for the women in my church who have embraced me and loved me the way that I am!

Beautiful reminder! I think I sometimes forget that each person is in my life by God's hand. When you remember that then it changes everything! We drove the bus last night and when we put the last child out I just burst out in tears. I was reminded of what the pastor said from the pulpit Sunday morning."one child for the kingdom of God, priceless"We are all so blessed.
