Thankful Thursday

WITHOUT LOVE - NOTHING!

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" John 13:34-35

Historian Arnold Toynbee said, "I think that love is the only spiritual power that can overcome the self-centeredness that is inherent in being alive. Love is the thing that makes life possible or, indeed, tolerable."

This is part of my Bible Study for this week and I really needed to hear it. There are so many people that are hard to love. I want to say today that I am thankful for the LOVE that God has given me and the LOVE that HE has given me to give to others because I could not do it on my own. I have been looking at people and I can see the misery in their eyes. They are not happy and they strive to make others unhappy. We have to love these people! We have to pray for them to have the love in their hearts that only God can give. I feel for them for they have no peace. For my "Thankful Thursday" I am sooooo Thankful for the love of my GOD - who loves me unconditionally, who gives me peace, my husband - who will always and forever have a special place in my heart I love him so, my children - who hold a big place in my heart, they make me so happy, and I am really thankful for ALL of you who visit with me!!!! HAPPY HAPPY THANKFUL THURSDAY to you all!!!

Please visit with Iris at www.eph2810.com for more THANKFUL THURSDAYers (is that a word?) Thanks Iris for hosting!!!

Cheryl,

I'm so thankful for God and his help in loving and praying for people who are hard to love. The more you pray for these people, the easier it becomes.

Blessings!
Cheryl

I think loving unlovable people is one of the hardest things we as Christians are instructed to do. Everything is possible with God. I enjoyed your TT post as usual!

Only God can give the unconditional love. It's sad how sometimes I neglect giving love to others in a way God wants me to.

Thanks for the reminder Cheryl, that we need to LOVE no matter the other person attitude! It is hard, but we are commanded to do it! Christ loved us enough, we should love others as well! Thanks again my friend!

Love is truly the basis for everything and without it we would be lost. Thank goodness for God's love and how it teaches me to love others. I am struggling with trying to love a few people that I don't "like" too much and it is not easy, but God's love teaches me how I SHOULD do it.

Great post.

I use Thankful Thursdayers :) - Not sure if it is a word - but we make it a word :)
Yes, there are some people in my life that are not happy people and they do try to make you feel miserable too. Yes, they are hard to love, but thanks be to God that He helps us to love them anyway.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Blessings to you and your wonderful family.

Isn't it amazing how God loves us all unconditionally? I'm always awed at His great love -even for someone that can sometimes be difficult to love as me.

I meant to comment here yesterday and got sidetracked for some reason. I hope that things are going better for you these days. To have an irregular person in your life is like having a thorn in your finger. It is a constant agitation. This is a great post, my friend!
